The Schmaier Lab (chmaierlab.com/) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, is seeking a highly-motivated and intellectually curious postdoctoral fellow to join our team. We study fundamental mechanisms of vascular endothelial cell function in thrombosis. Our research focuses on:

• TMEM16-family phospholipid channels: These channels regulate endothelial cell procoagulant activity and the release of proinflammatory extracellular vesicles.

• Tie2-angiopoietin signaling: This signaling pathway regulates endothelial inflammation and plays a crucial role in vascular health.

We employ a combination of cell culture and mouse models to investigate thrombosis. Our lab is a member of the renowned Division of Hemostasis and Thrombosis, a leader in blood coagulation research. (idmc.org/)

**Job Description:**

**Primary Responsibilities:**

**Required Qualifications:**

**Doctoral Degree or M.D.**

**0-1 year of postdoctoral research experience in academic or industrial lab setting, and/or teaching assistantship in a university setting, and/or residency, and/or clinical duties beyond that of the qualifying doctoral degree.**

**Physical Nature of the Job:**

**Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Some elements of the job are sedentary, but the employee will be required to stand for periods of time or move throughout the hospital campus.**
