Job Overview
The Assistant General Manager serves as the manager when the General Manager is not available.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures compliance with management company and franchise standards for personnel administration and performance, service to patrons, and room rates
Delivers outstanding guest service and financial performance. Assists General Manager with financial duties, including bank deposits, accounts payable and accounts receivable .
Delegates authority and assigns responsibility to all employees; supervises work activities of all employees.
Assists the Breakfast Attendant during breakfast and regularly checks in with that person to ensure their needs are being met.
Inspects guests' rooms, public access areas, and outside grounds for cleanliness and appearance.
Assist with laundry and housekeeping task when needed.
Answers patrons' complaints and resolves problems to maintain Guest Satisfaction
Adheres to all franchise and company procedures and regulations as well as standard operating procedures. Insures proper training is conducted and completed for all staff.
Ensure all Front Desk, Business Center, Fitness Center and Laundry Room items are stocked, and the areas are clean.
Provide detailed notes for General Manager on issues that arise throughout shift so that management can follow up.
Attend service recovery training and use tools to solve problems.
Interact with guests to ensure satisfaction offering suggestions and assistance if needed.
Assist Front Office Manager in covering shift when needed.
Follow up with department to ensure that evaluations are being read and initialed.
Use the Social Listening tool to review online postings and assist management in responding to reviews.

Required Skills and Experience
Highly energetic and motivated individual
Must have strong leadership skills
Opera and IHG experience preferred, but not required
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong customer/client focus essential
Self-Starter with ability to work independently and as a team

Excellent written communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
Ability to shift and manage multiple priorities
