Position: Market Research Analyst
Clearance: Top Secret/SCI
Education: BA/BS
Outcomes:
The successful candidate is expected to accomplish the following outcomes in the first year on the position:
· Formally track all tasks, to include:assigned by, suspense, status and comments on all assigned tasks through completion and be prepared to brief upon request.
· Create digital files that include standard operating procedures, workflows and points of contact lists to complete tasks.
· Create one or two products beyond the client requirements that positively impact the client to either increase efficiency, effectiveness, or innovation.
· Master position tasks within 30 days and exceed requirements within 60 days.
Responsibilities:
OCEA’s Portfolio Management Team studies commercial markets to identify the pooling of risks and/or emerging opportunities relevant to Air Force equities in order to develop strategies to address them.
We are currently seeking an Analyst-level team member to join our Critical Technologies team.
The Market Research Analyst provides relevant and timely research that identifies potential intersections across commercial and military interest to illuminate market size, growth, value drivers, segments (often by customer type, technology, or use), sensitivities, & trajectory within the existing and planned market segments in order to communicate what the commercial focus of the market is today and into the future.
The Market Research Analyst is responsible for researching macroeconomic and microeconomic conditions, along with company and market fundamentals, to collect and analyze vast stores of information.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Conduct sector, industry, and company-level primary research leveraging business intelligence tools to uncover and evaluate industry trends.
· Assist in development and solely author research reports.
· Leverage clear analytic judgment to deliberately interact with USG stakeholders, corporate entities, investors, and industry associations to generate reports and Air Force insights.
· Develop and maintain relationships with personnel and management of companies within the Portfolio.
· Keep abreast of industry-related news flow. Analyze implications of news/industry developments to portfolio companies and USG stakeholders.
· Develop a strategic engagement hypothesis for Air Force stakeholders to promote, project, or protect Air Force equities by leveraging preliminary market assessments.
Qualifications:
· The candidate must have 2 to 5 years of professional experience in Research, Business Consulting, Banking, Capital Markets, and/or Finance.
· Interest in and ability to leverage all available resources to create differentiated content for writing research reports (company-specific or industry).
· Experience writing in a professional capacity, e.g. crafting research notes / correspondence; presentation and/or development of industry reports.
· Strong PowerPoint skills are required.
· Expected to be adaptable and have the ability to work well under pressure.
· Strong attention to detail is a must.
The following qualifications are desired:
· Experienced in market research techniques in one or more industrial sectors.
· Skilled in qualitative and quantitative methods and working with large sets of data and/or information.
Travel: Occasional local travel
