**Area Sales Manager West Coast**
**Location:** Columbia, MD, US, 21044 ****Job Description****
The Sales Area Manager is responsible for delivering net new customer acquisition and maintaining/expanding existing accounts within assigned territory to deliver sales growth at target margins within the Materials Technology Business.
**Job Responsibilities:**
* Responsible for maintaining and growing direct accounts and one or more resellers within the territory
* Prospecting / Lead Generation and converting new accounts within the territory
* Develop strategies focused on expanding client base within defined market segments
* Maintain close contact with assigned accounts by establishing strong relationships with key decision makers
* Utilize advanced offering knowledge and understanding of the customers business to develop customized proposals
* Forecast revenue potential for each account / reseller and prioritize time accordingly
* Engage cross-functional teams during the sales process, as necessary (i.e. Technical Service, Marketing, Product Management, Order fulfillment, & Others)
* Effectively collaborate with sales colleagues & leaders on large account coordination

* Prior experience with CRM systems / SalesForce experience is preferred
****Required Experience****
* Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field from an accredited university OR Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or related technical discipline preferred.
* 7+ years of demonstrated successful business-to-business (B2B) sales experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
* B2B Technical Sales Experience
