Responsibilities The Accounting Manager directly reports to the Director of Accounting and leads a small team with responsibility for a diverse range of accounting areas that require critical analysis and understanding of our business
This is a highly visible role that will serve as a critical member of the accounting leadership team
The ideal candidate will identify process improvement opportunities, mentor and provide meaningful feedback and professional development opportunities to staff, and work collaboratively with our stores, store support center departments, senior management, and external stakeholders
Leads a small team in completing monthly corporate accounting and close activities, including reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, rollforwards, and other analyses related to revenue recognition, inventory reserves, consolidations, and other significant accounting matters
Prepares monthly and quarterly accounting, reporting, and ad hoc analyses for senior management
Supports the monthly and quarterly financial reporting process, including review of disclosures related to areas of responsibility and assistance with preparation of financial review presentations
Supports the monthly and quarterly financial reporting process, including the review of key accounting reconciliations
Research accounting issues and provide competent guidance and advice for a variety of topics related to the Company’s accounting policies and U.S. GAAP for the role’s areas of responsibility
Provides management teams with appropriate information to facilitate budget, forecast, and other reporting needs
Assists with the design, implementation, and maintenance of internal controls and accounting policies to promote effective governance and accurate financial reporting
Conducts special projects as assigned by the Director of Accounting, Director of Financial Reporting, Corporate Controller, or CFO
Answers questions from stores as well as store support center departments
Assists with the coordination of external audit activities and audit preparation as necessary
Drive process improvements and develop systematic processes

• Ability to analyze, solve problems, and adapt to changing organizational and operational needs

Experience & Education
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and active CPA license
• 5+ years of progressive responsibility, including at least 2 years of supervisory or management experience

Working Conditions (travel, hours, environment)
• Limited travel required including air and car travel
• The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.
