Area Medical Sales Manager- Los Angeles

Job Description Job Description SUMMARY: The Area Manager is responsible and accountable for sales in the Area, is the champion of the Product Sales Plan, growth and management of the Sales Channel, profitability of the Area, the Annual Area Business Plan, management of all agreements and contracts within and pertaining to the Area (in collaboration with VQ department heads), key customer retention, growth, development and leverage to improve business in the territory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Respects and achieves individual and territory sales plan goals, strives to meet or exceed quota, and gross margin targets; sell at budgeted ASP per product group; maintain costs & expenses within the budgeted amount and plan
• Create & maintain an effective sales organization (Distributors, Direct AEs,
Service/Support reps) to maximize growth of existing and new customers; Organize an effective "Service & Support" system to achieve the sales plan
• Manages all aspects of the territory including, direct AE & distributor management; contract negotiation, administration and management; lease/rental agreement negotiation, administration & management, inventory management, product fitting, patient education, billing paperwork management, troubleshooting, etc.
• Develop, write and execute an annual Area Plan, adapting as needed to achieve the sales plan: Develop Key Product selling strategy and tactics to exceed market growth and competitive product growth estimates.
• Maintains a personal interest, knowledge and relationship with any and all customer who have a significant influence on the area.
• Understand profit and loss and the business impact of decisions with regards to financial performance, inventory, receivable, cash flow, etc
• Able to reach decisions, takes thoughtful approach when considering options,
seeks input from other, makes difficult decisions that benefit the company

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Additional 6+ year's sales experience or combined total of 8+ years of education and directly related training and experience. Sales management experience a plus.
• Specific knowledge of selling rehabilitation products in the medical industry, preferred.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree from four-year College or University in Marketing, Communications or a related field preferred
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
• Typically interacts with staff, peers, senior management and external customers
• Ability to handle moderate to high stress
• Regularly required to sit, stand, move about, stoop, bend, reach, finger and grasp and to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds
• Regularly must see and read computer displays and reports, PDA displays &
cell phone displays
• Must regularly type and or enter data using computer keyboards.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises staff: Shows the ability to organize and motivate people to accomplish goals while creating a sense of order and direction.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
