Director of Operations Ideal Candidate Profile
QTS is currently seeking an energetic, responsive and well-organized full-time Director of Operations that would be responsible for production, quality, on-time delivery, safety, and profitability of the manufacturing operation. This position will support the Operational Excellence Program and drive continuous improvement and accountability throughout operations.
Director of Operations Job Summary
Lead the manufacturing operation to produce quality product, safely, while meeting cost and delivery goals
Serve as liaison between manufacturing and other functional departments in the development and implementation of company strategy and operations
Serve as the subject matter expert on device manufacturing in a contract manufacturing environment
Participate in the company strategic planning process and execute to the five-year strategy
Drive innovation and communication of latest industry trends and best practices in the manufacturing/medical device industries
Work closely with the Director of Quality on investigations, validations, and regulatory compliance
Create and provide training opportunities and stretch assignments to the manufacturing operation
Build and lead an operations team to support business requirements and goals
Partner with Human Resources on employee engagement and talent management
Partner with other business segments: sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance
Director of Operations Skills and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, or Business Management
7 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
5 years of experience in forecasting, capacity planning, and scheduling
3 years of experience working with lean manufacturing principles, practices, and tools
3 years of experience working in a regulated organization
Ability to drive quality, cost, and safety results through process management and improvement
Ability to lead and develop successful teams
Business and financial acumen
Ability to consistently achieve short and long-term business results
Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
