We are developing super-insulating, transparent inserts for windows based on aerogels, bringing state-of-the-art thermal comfort and energy efficiency into buildings at an affordable price.

Our goal is to ensure that our super-insulating silica aerogel, the first truly transparent aerogel, is widely adopted to enable affordable, high-performance windows. To enable our mission, AeroShield is working with insulated glazing manufacturers to co-develop and launch high-performance products. Due to the technical nature of these collaborations, success in this role is measured by deep, trusted collaborations with a select number of manufacturer customers, rather than targeting many partners.

What we are looking for in an Account Manager:

We’re in search of someone who is highly passionate about sustainability and wants to create meaningful change through their work at an early-stage cleantech startup. Working as an Account Manager at AeroShield you manage relationships with existing and prospective customers that manufacture insulated glass units for windows, doors, freezers, and more. You will help guide initial discussions, project manage samples and testing plans, and identify ways to help our customers reach their business and sustainability goals. You will report directly into the CEO and provide updates and recommendations on opportunities to expand our customer relationships, and work with our Product Engineering team to define customer needs and share product specifications.

While this role can be done remotely, travel to customer sites is expected, as well as visits to AeroShield’s R&D facilities in Boston, MA.

Managing existing relationships

Manage product samples and information sharing requests with existing customers

Ensure projects stay on track and exceed customer requirements and expectations

Develop client materials such as presentations and brochures, guide their internal communication materials, and support their data-gathering exercises on pricing, value proposition, etc.

Actively expand our network with key stakeholders and confidently explain the value prop, go-to-market plan, and project plan

Developing new relationships

Answer inbound communications from prospective customers and leading intro calls with the support of the Product Engineering team

Coordinate any agreements (such as confidentiality and material transfer agreements) to enable us to share information and product samples

Seek new customers through cold outreach and networking to reach target customers and conduct introductory calls

Supporting Marketing and Brand Awareness

Represent AeroShield at industry events and within key stakeholder networks

Provide feedback and input on marketing collateral (e.g. flyers, material summaries, banners)

Support AeroShield’s customer-centric marketing strategy through primary and secondary stakeholder research

Required Skills

Experience in project management, product development, business development, and/or account management for technical products

Solid organizational skills in a hybrid work environment and ability to prioritize

Attention to detail, e.g. when reviewing financial information and contracts

Strong communication skills, with preference for experience in preparing trainings or technical documentation

Bonus Skills

Familiarity with windows, glass, or architectural products

Experience working in a small team or with a startup developing partnerships and Joint Development Agreements
