NMAC (formerly known as the National Minority AIDS Council) is looking for a highly motivated person to support the Center to End the HIV Epidemic. This person will have the primary responsibilities of coordinating activities to support persons, subpopulations, and communities to become more engaged in HIV-related healthcare delivery.

Core Competencies

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator will provide comprehensive support to the Growing Leadership Opportunities for Women (GLOW) and Youth Initiative programs. This role requires strong coordination skills, program planning expertise, and the ability to engage with subpopulations and communities disproportionately impacted by HIV and associated illnesses.

Key Duties

GLOW

Offer support to participants throughout the GLOW program.

Coordinate and facilitate program design and onboarding meetings.

Manage communication with participants, including acceptance and denials.

Review applications and provide recommendations for program selection.

Maintain, deliver, and implement engagement tools such as webinars and forums.

Handle project communication, schedule meetings, and ensure proper storage of key project documents.

Actively engage with community members through verbal, written, and electronic communication, serving as a liaison between NMAC, partners, and constituents.

Coordinate the recruitment of program participants through multiple media and communication channels.

Provide mentoring support to program participants as needed and when appropriate.

Serve as a project liaison, managing travel logistics for program participants.

Contribute to the creation and dissemination of marketing and promotional materials for program services and events.

Maintain multiple databases for various program components, including participant recruitment and contacts.

Collaborate closely with the Program Manager and Evaluator to report on appropriate outcome measures and monitor service delivery results.

Process payment for GLOW consultants.

Coordinate the purchasing of supplies for GLOW.

Represent NMAC at various conferences, meetings, and events as assigned.

Youth Initiative Coordinate the purchasing of supplies for the Youth Initiative.

Disseminate Youth Initiative supplies as required.

Serve as a liaison between Youth Initiative scholars and NMAC.

Serve as a project liaison, managing travel logistics for program participants.

Actively engage with community members through verbal, written, and electronic communication, serving as a liaison between NMAC, partners, and constituents.

Manage communication with participants, including acceptance and denials.

Review applications and provide recommendations for program selection.

Process payment for Youth Initiative consultants.

Miscellaneous Partnering with colleagues to deliver other objectives per the stated agency’s mission & vision whenever available.

NMAC Liaison for Constituent Advisory Panel (CAPs)

All other duties assigned.

This job description provides an overview of the primary responsibilities and expectations associated with the Program Coordinator position. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and qualifications.

The position is hybrid

The position is bilingual (specifically, English/Spanish required)

The position requires someone local to the DC, MD and VA metropolitan area Qualifications

Minimum of three years of academic and/or professional experience in HIV, infectious disease, or public health.

Demonstrated desire to support communities disproportionately impacted by HIV.

Detail orientated approach to program execution

Good judgement in recognizing and resolving problems through verbal/written communication and negotiation.

Ability to travel up to 35% per month.

Passion to respond to HIV through a race-justice lens.

Proficient and documented experience with MS Office

People living with HIV and LGBTQ+ people are strongly encouraged to apply.

Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19

Benefits Salary range: $60,000-65,000 per annum

Health Insurance: Platinum health insurance (NMAC pays premium for agency-selected plan)

Life Insurance: Term à Up to $100,000

LTD Disability: Up to 75% of annual salary

Paid Time Off: Ten (10) days per annum
