Job Description and Duties

This is a 12-month Limited-Term position and may be extended to a maximum of 24-months and/or may become permanent based on operational needs.

Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I), Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) / Staff Services Analysts (SSA), performs complex analytical activities to support the mission of the Division.

The Analyst will provide professional development expertise and hiring, on-boarding, training, and coaching support to staff and managers within the Division. The responsibilities of the Analyst also include administrative duties and other internal Division support. The Analyst will apply skills and expertise to process development, research on best practices, and will work closely and cooperatively with others and in teams.

Working Conditions

This position may be eligible for Hybrid telework under California Government Code Section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California. Department Information

The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) serves, aids, and protects needy and vulnerable children and adults in ways that strengthen and preserve families, encourage personal responsibility, and foster independence. CDSS employees are our most important resource in serving California's needy and vulnerable children and families.

The Housing and Homelessness Division is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs related to housing support and homelessness mitigation. The analyst in the Operations Unit will be integral in advancing the mission of the branch to end homelessness in CA, by providing staff and manager support, development, and retention through hiring, training, and on-boarding; equity and inclusion work; and leading assignments related to managing and updating Division resources and processes and procedures.

Special Requirements

Training and Development assignments are considered limited term, 12 months, and may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.
