Sonatus is seeking a highly skilled Head of TPM with expertise in technical program management. This pivotal role requires a meticulous leader with deep knowledge in project management, process optimization and tracking, metric analysis, and dashboard creation. The ideal candidate must possess robust business acumen, technical proficiency and extensive managerial experience to ensure successful and optimized project execution, must have a positive and a can-do attitude, and be able to provide clarity as one navigates through ambiguous and complex situations.
Duties and Responsibilities Process Optimization: Define and implement optimized processes for the TPM team to effectively manage projects, leveraging agile and waterfall methodologies as appropriate.
Metric Analysis and Dashboard Creation: Utilize tools such as Jira, Confluence, and ALM tools (Jama, CodeBeamer, DOORS) to measure metrics, analyze data, and create comprehensive dashboards for project tracking and reporting.
Technical and Business Acumen: Apply deep understanding of engineering methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, to drive efficient project delivery and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Project Oversight: Track and report on complex project statuses, ensuring milestones are achieved within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
Compliance and Standards: Ensure adherence to automotive compliance standards (e.g., ISO 26262, ISO 21434) throughout project life cycles, maintaining rigorous documentation and audit trails.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with engineering, product management, and sales teams to align project goals, ensure product quality, and meet project timelines.
Customer Engagement: Negotiate with customers to define project requirements, manage expectations, and deliver optimal solutions that exceed customer satisfaction.
Leadership and Team Development: Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to a team of TPM professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Communication: Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels, both verbally and in written reports.
Qualifications and Experience 10-15 years of progressive experience in IT and automotive industries, with a strong focus on technical program management and leadership roles.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Proficiency in utilizing Jira, Confluence, and Applicable Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools (e.g., Jama, CodeBeamer, DOORS) for project management, metric analysis, and documentation.
Comprehensive understanding of engineering methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall, with the ability to tailor approaches to project needs.
Familiarity with automotive compliance standards, particularly ISO 26262, ISO 21434, and other relevant regulations.
Proven track record of successful project delivery, team leadership, and stakeholder management in a complex, matrixed organization.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) and familiarity with automotive-specific standards (e.g., ASPICE) would be advantageous.
$168,500 - $259,500 a year The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels and what Sonatus ("Company") could reasonably expect to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
