Medical Customer Service Representative Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, families and caregivers, both in person and over the phone
Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries regarding appointments, medical services, billing and insurance coverage
Schedule patient appointments, procedures and follow-up visits, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Verify patient demographic and insurance information, updating records as needed
Assist patients with completing necessary forms and documents, providing guidance and support as required
Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to address patient concerns and resolve issues promptly
Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Medical Customer Service Representative Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare or medical office setting
Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification and scheduling procedures
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families and colleagues
Proficiency in computer skills, including experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office
Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Compassionate and empathetic attitude, with a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care
