Senior Scientist

As our Bio-Rad Senior Scientist , you`ll use your extensive knowledge of polymer chemistry to support the transfer of new products from the Chemistry R&D group to the Manufacturing group.Although primarily focused on Bio-Rad`s chromatography resins, you`ll have the opportunity to work on multiple product lines.You`ll partner with R&D to gain an understanding of how to make and test the new product and develop and draft new manufacturing procedures.You`ll organize development builds which you`ll use to train your partners in the Production group and collaborate with them on scale-up activities.You`ll work with the QC team to establish pass/fail specs and train on new test. You`ll work with all members of the project team to establish and deliver on efficient and achievable timelines.

How You`ll Make an Impact:

Ensure the smooth transfer and successful launch of the new product by working closely with R&D and various teams in manufacturing.

Draft robust production procedures, perform hands-on training of Production personnel, and ensure successful scale up.

Develop and draft relevant and effective QC test procedures, train QC personnel, and set data-driven pass / fail specs.

Assist with material setup in SAP

Develop a solid understanding of the new products and their manufacturing processes to assist in troubleshooting

What You`ll Bring:

Ph. D. (or Bachelor's degree plus significant experience) in chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field

Strong technical writing and communication skills

Strong troubleshooting skills

Experience with synthesis and characterization of polymers and / or chromatography resins,

Experience with new product development and / or product transfer and scale up is strongly preferred.

Experience with protein purification and biochemistry concepts and lab skills is a plus

Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this position is $149,000 to $204,800 at the time of posting.Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
