The Director of Operations will oversee all day-to-day operations for the Storage sector of our business. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Storage Operations, this position will be responsible for the management of personnel and processes to effectively execute the plans of the storage division. The role requires outstanding organizational, communication, and leadership skills and an ability to develop innovative solutions that push boundaries. The director of operations will work closely with executives to direct and develop both immediate-need tactical plans as well as long-term strategies that usher in new levels of productivity and success for the company.
Responsibilities
Develops, implements, and supervises operational processes to support strategic initiatives and operating platform growth.
Manages, coaches and develops a team of District Managers across geographically-diverse markets to ensure standardization, accountability, and business development progression.
Leads efforts around the process and execution of hiring and training of District Managers and supporting roles across the operating platform.
Drives performance of the storage operating platform through evaluating current operating practices, engagement across the corporate disciplines and first-hand involvement in the field.
Displays strong leadership in the coaching and execution of P&L management to meet the business plan at all levels of the field operation.
Develops performance goals and both short- and long-term operational plans.
Maximizes efficiencies and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration.
Assists in the execution of the capital expenditure program, to include annual budgeting, vendor management and timely execution of projects.
Partner with Training department to identify training opportunities across operations, provide input into training content across the platform, and deliver training when appropriate.
Travels frequently to multiple stores to ensure engagement, coaching and execution in the field
Performs other related tasks as requested.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or other relevant Master’s degree preferred.
10+ years’ operational experience, including leadership of geographically disparate teams.
Extensive experience in budget development and P&L analysis and management.
Ability to successfully manage multiple projects in a timely manner.
Ability to solve problems and manage expenses using innovation and internal assets.
Ability to effectively communicate ideas and information in both written and oral format.
Highly collaborative with ability to influence and gain consensus at all levels.
Ability to travel up to 50%.
