About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Accounting Policy to join its dynamic team. The successful candidate will be a key leader, both internally and externally, providing expert guidance on accounting principles and standards. This role involves a broad influence within the accounting function, requiring vision, leadership, and innovation in financial matters. Responsibilities include conducting technical accounting research, implementing new standards, and advising on the accounting implications of business activities. The VP will also lead in the preparation of accounting transaction memos, assist in external representation on accounting matters, and play a critical role in M&A and structured transactions. Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, be a CPA, and have over 10 years' of related experience, with a preference for at least 5 years' in public accounting. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, particularly in the areas of revenue recognition, software development, and business combinations, is essential. The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to articulate complex accounting issues to senior executives, and a proven track record of providing strategic direction. Proficiency in MS desktop applications is necessary, and experience with SOX requirements is a plus. The VP will also be responsible for training the accounting department on new standards and ensuring that accounting and financial reporting process risks are appropriately documented.
