Summary

The Solid Waste Division (SWD) is recruiting a capable team player for a Capital Project Manager II position in their Project Management Office. About the Team:

Members of the PMO manage or support Capital Improvement Projects for the Solid Waste Division. Capital projects help maintain or improve SWD assets such as our transfer stations, drop boxes, Cedar Hills Regional Landfill, and other systems necessary to support our SWD goals. Our section leads the Division's efforts on overseeing the project management of a variety of projects by leading project teams, consultants, contractors, and technical/program staff to ensure seamless project delivery by integrating organizational and stakeholder requirements.

What You Will De Doing:

The core work duties of this position include the following:

Utilizing King County capital improvement project management practices and procedures, initiate and develop capital improvements projects, developing and refining project scope, schedule, and budget in collaboration with subject matter experts and stakeholders. Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, consultants, and other key stakeholders, documenting assumptions, requirements, and decisions. Develop and maintain project documents and information repositories, Conduct project cost monitoring and project schedule tracking. Support capital project procurements, asset management, commissioning, and occupancy planning. Organize and manage project work and resources, Develop and maintain project management plans and related planning documents, project baselines, scope change documentation, variance analysis, and work performance reporting

Qualifications You Bring:

A Bachelor's Degree in project management, construction management, engineering, business administration, or a closely related field and at least two years of project management-related work experience or a combination of other relevant skills, knowledge, and experiences to competently carry out the job duties of this position Demonstrated ability to work on multiple complex design and construction projects simultaneously, from planning through delivery, and produce high-quality deliverables Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of professional disciplines and individuals with diverse backgrounds Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and perform design and construction project management and project control tasks successfully with supervision Demonstrated ability to effectively present proposals, progress reports, and recommendations Demonstrated ability to work on multiple complex projects simultaneously, produce high-quality deliverables on time, and respond to changing work responsibilities to meet organizational requirements Working level of computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint)

Working Conditions:

Remote and Onsite Work Details: Employees in this role work remotely from a home location, with onsite reporting requirements typically 1-2 days a month. The frequency of onsite work is determined by business needs and may be adjusted accordingly. The most common onsite location will be Cedar Hills Regional Landfill including the collaboration space at King Street Center (201 S. Jackson St, Seattle, WA 98104). This work arrangement promotes work-life balance and reduces carbon footprint under the department's vision of . Remote Work Location Requirement: Employees must reside in Washington State and be within a reasonable distance of King County worksites to meet onsite reporting requirements. Work Schedule: This full-time position works a 40-hour work week. This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible.
