What You’ll Do
Do you want to be part of world class team with flexibility of a startup? Are you able to incubate new ideas and drive them to closure in the physical layer? As a Staff Wireless PHY Standards Architect, you will be responsible for driving and designing the next generation of physical layer for wireless technologies.
You will get to influence the standards process by participating in the meetings, making technical contributions, and driving company strategic interests. In addition, you will be responsible for creating new PHY layer IPs and developing innovative proprietary cross-layer algorithms for new and emerging applications. You will also actively work with internal teams to keep them apprised of the development and direction of the standards; help them define features, requirements, and architectures, generate new ideas and features, develop and debug product performance in all environments.
You will collaborate with cross functional teams across the world to develop state-of-the-art wireless products.
Location: San Jose, CA.This is a Hybrid role, working onsite at our San Jose headquarters at least 3 days per week with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time depending on job requirement.

What You Bring
Bachelor's with 10+ years or Master's with 8+ years or Ph.D. with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
PHY design and development from the concept to production; requires extensive characterization on the structure of PHY
Proven track record of participation and technical leadership in wireless standardization organization, such as IEEE 802.11 (Wi-Fi ) or similar technology
Familiarity with UWB is additional advantage
In-depth knowledge on wireless communication signal processing, physical layer systems, architectures, protocols and algorithms
Strong familiarity with wireless communication techniques, such as SU/MU-MIMO, OFDM, OFDMA, beamforming, FEC, etc.
Knowledge of PHY algorithms, and interface with RF
C/C++ and MATLAB coding
Network simulators, such as ns2, ns3 or Opnet
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with PHY modem architecture, algorithms, and hardware design is a plus
Experience with PHY/MAC cross-layer algorithm design is a plus
Ability to present complex technical concepts in a clear and organized manner
Have a strong and proven leadership ability is a plus
Self-motivated and passionate to solve problems in innovative ways
Some amount of travel for standards meetings is expected
