The Stand Together development team brings top business leaders together to solve our country’s biggest problems through financial and strategic leadership of our most cutting-edge programs and investments. Stand Together’s high-performing major gifts program helps hundreds of donor partners actively participate in the programs they support, advancing our shared priorities through robust, year-round engagement.
As the Director, Major Gift Acquisitions, you will build and lead a team (currently three people) to execute a robust referral program, 1:1 outreach, and cultivation strategy to grow our major gifts ($100k+ annual contribution) donor community.You will lead the team that is responsible for identifying new partners, introducing them to Stand Together, and engaging them with opportunities to leverage their capabilities to achieve positive social change.
Your Responsibilities Include Collaborate with Stand Together’s Growth team to evaluate opportunities to expand our pipeline of major gift prospects and donors through identification, introduction, and cultivation.
In partnership with the Growth team, run experiments testing clear hypotheses with measurable goals (KPIs) to improve conversions.
Develop and execute individualized strategies to identify and cultivate vision- and principles-aligned major gift prospects, including referrals from current donors, and internal and external partners.
Create and implement a process to successfully transfer high-quality prospects to the major gifts partnership team.
Present prospective partners with opportunities for how they can align their passions for philanthropy within the Stand Together community.
Contribute to the strategy for communications and events to inspire donors to engage with their time and resources. Leverage existing events and propose new in-person opportunities to recruit prospects.
Utilize Stand Together’s subject matter experts and organizational representatives to increase prospects’ engagement with our programs and strategies.
Ensure high-fidelity of data integrity and accountability across the Acquisition team.
Knowledge and Skills You Bring to the Organization 5+ years of demonstrated leadership and strategy implementation specific to philanthropic wealth screening, donor engagement, and growth.
Proven supervisory experience with a demonstrated background in cultivating and developing talent.
Experience in a value-focused relationship management environment such as major gifts fundraising, consulting, or business development.
Ability to drive multiple concurrent projects to completion through continuous transformation and an entrepreneurial approach.
High level of humility and integrity.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, professionalism, and ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
Proficient with marketing technology including Salesforce, Email Service Providers (ESPs) and emerging tools that can help drive effectiveness at scale.
