Job Description
Saylor Consulting Group (SCG) has an opportunity for an Engineer with IT Infrastructure Project Experience to work with our client, San Francisco International Airport (SFO). The candidate will be responsible for all IT Passive Infrastructure and Active Systems related activities. The role also includes involvement with the design , validation, vendor management, implementation and testing of wide area network systems, public and operational Wi-Fi networks, cable infrastructure and IT systems for large capital projects at SFO. Experience with the actual development of scope of work and project design drawings, implementation, and construction process of necessary IT infrastructure buildings and systems is required. The position requires the candidate to be available full-time onsite.
Daily Duties
Responsible for the design, engineering, and implementation of all aspects of physical backbone and horizontal infrastructure (copper and fiber).
Responsible for the design, engineering, and commissioning of IT Special Systems Room (SSR).
Allocating and scheduling project resources for both SFO ITT and Subcontractors as it relates to IT Passive and Active System Buildout.
Reviewing and commenting on all phases of Construction Drawings as it relates to SFO ITT Infrastructure and Passive Systems.
Developing Bill of Materials for passive infrastructure and related hardware.
Procurement of passive infrastructure and related hardware.
Tracking procurement of passive infrastructure and related hardware.
Coordinating schedule for passive infrastructure and related hardware installation.
Project Management and Oversight of all phases of construction of IT Special Systems Rooms (SSR's) which will house Airport Common Use Infrastructure and Airport Managed Active Systems.
Horizontal copper and fiber cable design and installation which follow SFO and BICSI Standards.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications 10+ years of relevant Project Management/Design of IT Infrastructure, Special System Room, and Passive Systems, and/or support of Large-Scale Campus Infrastructure.
RCDD or other Infrastructure Certifications
Previous Voice/Data Installation Experience
Experience with following PM and Design/project drawing software: AutoCAD, BlueBeam, Microsoft Project, Visio
Strong organizational skills with a proven record of an attention to detail and impeccable follow-through of open actions.
Strong interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication.
Enthusiastic and collaborative individual with the ability to work under pressure in a highly dynamic environment.
Able to work both independently and as part of a team with flexibility to adjust to changing priorities while managing to deadlines.
