About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP of Engineering to lead its Infrastructure, Application Development, and Quality Assurance teams. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to shape the technical platform, set the vision for the teams, and build an operating model that fosters communication and collaboration across the organization. This role requires a proven leader with a technical foundation to make and moderate technical decisions, drive consensus, and earn the respect of the team and peers. The VP of Engineering will be responsible for all technical decisions affecting product development, maintenance, scaling, and security, and will work closely with leaders in all departments to deliver solutions that meet their needs. The ideal candidate will embody the company's core values, including being tenacious, putting humans first, and challenging the status quo.Candidates for the VP of Engineering position should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering field, preferably in computer science, with at least 15 years' of overall experience and a minimum of 8 years managing teams. Experience leading teams of over 100 and scaling the engineering organization to 200+ engineers is essential, and expertise in managing global and remote teams is a plus. The role requires excellent technical skills, product management skills, and the ability to mentor and moderate discussions within the engineering organization. Strong cross-department collaboration, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels are also necessary. Experience with the company's tech stack, including JVM based languages, AWS, Kubernetes, and event-driven architecture, is advantageous.
