Grundfos is seeking a District Sales Manager to join our Water Utility team in the Northern California: Sacramento, San Francisco, Hayward, Fresno or Anaheim based. This role will focus on growing the Grundfos Water Utility (Municipal Market) business by defining, measuring, analyzing, improving, and controlling the activities within his/her defined geography and accounts. The territory for this position would include the state of California, with possible additional (adjacent) areas. The District Sales Manager will be working closely with the Systems Business Manager and regional team to foster open dialogue, develop a team environment and culture, create a strong morale and spirit within the team, promoting the sharing of wins, successes and challenges. Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support. **Selling:** The District Sales Manager is responsible for managing Disinfection Water Treatment (DWT) sales to existing and potential direct accounts. In addition to managing sales support to distribution partners which may include participation in closing an order or to facilitate and add value to the selling process. Grundfos employees must be the brand, live the brand, and present the brand. **Territory Planning:** The DSM must continually develop knowledge of the DWT business climate, applications and competition for his/her defined geography and accounts. The DSM will manage, maintain, and execute a DWT territory plan. The DSM will continually manage current distribution channels, which would include evaluating their performance, including determining if a distribution channel requires additional training or even termination of the relationship. The DSM will manage conflict ensuring alignment with territory plans. The DSM will conduct extensive training on our DWT product portfolio which will include and not be limited to engineering firms, and end users. The DSM will deliver training on Grundfos DWT products, applications, and sales processes, and will provide/facilitate training and education to all levels of the sales channel. The DSM will manage the selection process of new distributions channels in their area. * Professional sales skills including key account strategies and plans.

* In-depth knowledge of the Water Treatment market segment and a general knowledge of the other Grundfos target markets.

* Extensive knowledge in the chlorine Gas market

* Chemical Feed / Dosing experience

* Electrolytic Sodium Hypochlorite Solution Generation experience

* Demonstrated knowledge of pumps and pumping systems, rotating equipment including electronically controlled pump systems (VFD, controllers, etc.) used within the Groundwater market.

* Ability to manage and deliver effective product presentations for all sizes of audiences for both internal and external customers.

* Excellent verbal and writing communication skills.

* Excellent PC skills with above average knowledge and use of Microsoft Office application programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as a good aptitude for learning and applying new systems and programs.

* Must be able to travel up to 50% if necessary, both domestically and internationally. Thus, candidates should be able to maintain valid identification.
