A law firm in San Diego, CA is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Health Plan Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team. The role involves advising healthcare clients on strategic transactions, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day corporate matters. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional legal acumen in health plan operations, managed care, and federal/state healthcare laws.
Duties:
Advise healthcare clients on mergers and acquisitions, equity transactions, venture capital investments, and joint ventures.
Assist clients with corporate formations, capital raises, operational strategies, and contract negotiations.
Conduct legal research, analysis, and draft legal documents related to healthcare transactions and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate effectively with internal teams and communicate directly with clients to provide legal guidance and support.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely completion within established deadlines.
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the State Bar (California Bar preferred).
4-6 years of experience practicing law with a focus on health plan operations, regulation, managed care, and healthcare transactions.
In-depth knowledge of Medicare risk adjustment, STARS ratings, Medicaid regulations, and behavioral health parity.
Strong understanding of federal and state laws pertaining to health plans and provider contracting.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex legal issues clearly and concisely.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
