Vice President Controller
Salary: $225K to $250K + Bonus (total comp $300k to $350k)
Requirements: 12+ years of experience gained through a combination of public accounting and industry experience.Current or recent experience at the Director or VP level in a public company

Our client, a financial services industry leaders is actively seeking a Controller to play a crucial role in steering their corporate accounting operations during their next phase of growth. This person will own the accounting function for multiple operating divisions, overseeing a team of four, while also enhancing accounting processes to align with the next phase of our expansion. Responsibilities:
Responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, starting from recording transactions to generating management reports and conducting ad-hoc analyses
Supervising General Ledger operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with professional accounting standards and GAAP
Taking the lead in managing the accounting team, which involves recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and other managerial duties
Evaluating all documentation and contracts to enhance internal control mechanisms
Acting as a point of contact for external auditing firms while taking the primary role in addressing the Company's technical accounting concerns
Ensuring proper accounting treatment and reporting for company investments and transactions
Collaborating with senior management to ensure internal compliance
Establishing offshore capabilities for transaction processing and various accounting and finance functions
Developing and executing effective tax compliance strategies to minimize tax liabilities and adhere to relevant tax laws and regulations
Taking ownership of establishing SOX controls and documentation
Supervising monthly closing activities for different divisions
Providing timely financial reporting and conducting budget analyses for holding company and its four operating divisions
Identifying and implementing improvements in accounting software workflows and maintaining accurate accounting software as the primary data source
Requirements
12+ years of progressive experience (mix of public and private accounting) including 3+ years managing a team
CPA license (active or inactive status)
Willingness to transition between finance and accounting departments and switch between detailed tasks and a broader perspective to achieve company objectives
Strong understanding of GAAP Standards and regulatory requirements
High-level proficiency in Excel and working with ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, Workday)
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong leadership abilities and the capacity to manage both upwards and downwards
Outstanding analytical and organizational skills
A willingness and ability to work at both transactional and strategic levels
A self-starter who is enthusiastic about FinTech and eager to make an immediate contribution to a new team
