BERK Consulting Seattle, WA Full-time Human Resources
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing BERK's HR functions, including managing internal meetings; cultivating a healthy firm culture; coordinating recruitment, onboarding and offboarding processes; administering payroll and benefits; coordinating 401(k) management; and supporting professional development. This is an 80% FTE role (32 hours per week).
Responsibilities Internal Meetings and Information Flow Manage our monthly reporting cycle and ensure smooth information flow.
Coordinate staff and team meetings officewide.
Maintain information in Deltek VantagePoint and TriNet.
Firm Culture and Recruitment Coordinate efforts and initiatives to cultivate a healthy BERK culture. This includes coordinating officewide DEI efforts, creating opportunities for connections and shared learning among staff, strengthening teamwork and ways of working together, and strengthening our focus on continuous learning through feedback and mentoring.
Maintain Employee Manual and other documentation of BERK's policies and practices.
Coordinate recruiting efforts, conduct reference checks, and monitor/respond to employment inquiries.
Communicate job offers and manage the onboarding process for new hires,.
Conduct offboarding and exit interviews for departing employees.
Payroll and Benefits Administration Manage healthcare renewals and coordinate healthcare census and communication to the team.
Work directly with our benefits broker to renew benefits each year and resolve any issues.
Review benefits calculations in payroll.
Support eligible employees with Family Medical Leave Act benefits.
Respond to HR-related needs and questions from the team.
Performance and Professional Development Coordinate review processes, including 3-month check-ins and annual performance conversations.
Conduct Firm Pulse and Principal Feedback surveys.
Track and encourage professional development activities.
401(k) Management Track eligibility and facilitate timely account setup for 401(k) participants.
Communicate with team members at the start of the new year to confirm 401(k) contributions.
Obtain account information for any account closures.
Coordinate 401(k) match and profit-sharing decisions with Principals
Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years experience in a human resources role.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP).
Experience with benefits administration and payroll management.
Familiarity with Washington state employment laws and
regulations.
