Job Description The Director of Business Development – Hospitality focuses on sales to prospects in Avendra’s core lodging segment. This position reports to VP, Business Development
This position is remote with travel. Candidate can be based out of either Texas or Arizona around major cities and/or metropolitan airports.
Job Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities
Manage portfolio of assigned prospects to close business and meet individual and team revenue goals Develop long-term relationships with key buyers in industry/territory
Deploy proactive selling strategies to sign up new accounts
Perform account research activity to develop qualified leads
Conduct sales calls on key C-level decision makers
Develop and deliver compelling presentations to influence C-level buyers to join Avendra
Work with senior leadership and finance to develop wining supply chain proposals based on prospective clients’ business needs
Work with various support teams to coordinate a “Discovery” engagement on select accounts to support the selling effort
Interact with senior management as needed on complex deals
Secondary Responsibilities
Maintain current prospecting information and activity in Avendra’s CRM system
Work with Implementation and Account Management teams to seamlessly transition accounts once signed Document account information using Avendra’s internal process and complete assignments and all paperwork in a timely manner

Role Requirements
Ideal candidate will have hospitality background
Prior direct sales and/or consulting experience
Must demonstrate abilities in “solution selling” with strong negotiation skills
Experienced in complex sales with multiple buying influences
Must have excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Knowledge and experience in strategic supply chain management, sourcing and distribution
Experience selling services
Knowledge of Avendra’s targeted new market segments preferred
Executive Presence
public presentation/speaking skills
Should be prepared to manage others on an "as-needed" basis per role requirements
Overnight Travel Requirements: Type: All modes of transportation, percentage 50-75%, trips spanning 3-5 nights average
Years of Relevant Experience. 10 or more years of experience
Education Requirements. BS/BA in relevant field or equivalent years' experience. Master’s degree preferred.
