IT Support Specialist

Responsibilities

SUMMARY:

Responsible for the administration of the IT help desk by providing technical support for help desk tickets and calls. Contributes to the operation of the credit union's information systems equipment including I.T. Operations in accordance with set procedures and established policies. This is a hybrid/remote position, that will require some in office work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Administers the Help Desk function relating to I.T. Operations and telecommunications: answers the Help Desk phone; creates help desk tickets for problems/requests; provides technical support to resolve the issues and ensure tickets are closed in a timely manner.

Contributes to the efficient operation of the I.T. Department including meeting the needs of the credit union, end users and members.

Performs daily host system operations in a timely manner.

Sets up phone, e-mail and computer users.

Ensures that records and documentation relating to the Help Desk and other IT functions are accurately maintained.

Extracts data from the IT systems; prepares reports for management as assigned.

Communicates and installs security updates as assigned.

Assists in testing software corrections, updates and enhancements within the allowable time frames as established by the software vendor.

Manages the back-up rotation process; restores files as necessary.

Maintains software inventory; monitors licenses to ensure compliance with software vendor agreements.

Installs and configures desktop hardware for Advancial users.

Troubleshoots and repairs computers and laptops for the organization.

Repairs and/or replaces malfunctions in I.T. Operations hardware as assigned.

Places orders for the purchase of equipment, software and supplies upon approval of the supervisor.

Conducts research relating to computer system enhancements and other subjects as assigned.

Communicates the status of systems operations and problems to the supervisor.

Provides training to end users on an as needed basis to ensure maximum efficiency and knowledge on current systems software and hardware.

Ensure all projects assigned are delivered on time and within scope and budget.

Documents processes as assigned

Periodically checks work to assure that processing is being performed according to instructions.

Performs and assumes other duties as required at the direction of the immediate supervisor.

Maintains a positive and caring atmosphere for members and employees consistent with the Credit Union's mission and philosophy.

Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of computer equipment and software required including Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.

The salary range for this position is $25.66-$32.08/hr. and based on experience.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
