Position Summary Information

Primary Purpose

The Associate Director reports to the Director of the Transformational Change Partnership and is funded by grants from public agencies and philanthropic organizations, as well as participant fees. The associate director makes significant contributions to strategic outreach and communications, program development and funding applications, program execution with cohorts, and fulfilling the administrative obligations of the programs.

The Associate Director of McGeorge School of Law’s Transformational Change Partnership provides senior leadership strategic, instructional, and technical assistance for projects and programs including high level of engagement with other program staff, the staff of partner organizations, and client public agencies and community-based organizations.

Essential Functions

Oversee and lead the programs, projects, and activities of the Transformational Change Partnership partnering with senior management.

Develop and execute specific program activities, including instructional sessions, convenings and associated technical assistance.

Design and contribute to the internal and external evaluation of TCP programs.

Prepare grant applications, budgets and reports and work collaboratively to ensure the program is adequately funded.

Supervisory oversight of staff and student assistants.

Manage and coordinate partner organizations’ planning and delivery of instructional, technical assistance, communication and convening activities.

Develop policy analysis from data gathering and information and engage experts on a range of issues related to the health, safety and wellbeing of residents, including health, social, educational and criminal justice services and systems.

Oversee marketing and communications regarding the Transformational Change Partnership.

Resolve routine and complex problems that may arise with minimal supervision while managing multiple assignments and prioritize in a constant changing work environment.

Improve administrative and operational processes as needed.

Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree.

Seven (7) years of experience in health and human services, education as a practitioner, administrator, analyst, or consultant.

Two (2) years of senior program/project management.

Preferred Qualifications Master’s or other advanced degree in a related field.

Knowledge of and substantial professional engagement in relevant issues with local governments and agencies of the State of California.

Experience in obtaining external funding, including philanthropic or other non-governmental support.

Commitment to excellence, responsiveness and inclusivity in education and public service.

Superb verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to correctly analyze, interpret and explain policies and procedures.

Capacity to exercise diplomacy and deal effectively with a variety of situations in a calm, precise manner.

Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Proficiency with standard office computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite.

Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.

Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Hiring Range

Hiring Range $98,861.56 - $135,943.09 per year. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
