Join our Team! We have an exciting new opportunity for a Front Desk Admin in our Practice Management program located in Yonkers, New York, In-Person. Base Pay: $19.00 an hour.
Summary: Our clinics offer individual, group, family, and medication services for individuals of all ages – and for a full range of behavioral health conditions. The Receptionist/Front Desk Admin is responsible for all reception aspects of the program, which are necessary to ensure the smooth and orderly operation of the clinic. Positive and courteous interactions with clients, staff, and other community agencies are an essential aspect of this job. The Receptionist/Front Desk Admin will work with a person-centered, trauma-informed philosophy in alignment with the values of Greater Mental Health.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain and review client consent.
Handles incoming calls during clinic hours while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette.
Responsible for taking messages from the general voice mailbox and delivering to staff.
Welcomes and greets all clients and visitors, in person or over the phone.
Maintains an accurate record of clients seen each day.
Manage all staff clinical schedules, which include appointments, cancellations, and will-call lists.
Accurately schedules and reschedules all client appointments.
Accepts and receives payments from clients.
Receives and directs persons attending meetings.
Works collaboratively with the program/clinic assistant to ensure the availability of client forms and surveys.
Maintains an adequate supply of new client materials.
Receives general clinic mail as well as other deliveries.
Responsible for keeping the reception area clean and organized.
Other designated duties.

Knowledge of insurance eligibility verification for third-party payers, Medicaid, Medicare, Managed Care, and Commercial plans, is a plus
1 to 3 years of Reception experience in a fast-paced office, preferably in medical or community mental health office, is preferred.
Strong communication and human relations skills.
Attention to detail.
Good time management skills
Patience, flexibility, and professionalism at all times.
Familiarity with and ability to use an Electronic Health Record system.
Requirements: High school diploma/GED/TASC equivalent required. A clerical or Administrative Assistant certificate is preferred.
Flexibility to go to other Greater Mental Health locations to provide coverage if needed
Must have computer literacy skills, good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and an understanding of office procedures.
Has used and documented in an electronic health record is preferred.
Spanish language fluency is preferred.
Used and has knowledge of how to operate general office equipment.
The Receptionist/Front Desk Admin must adhere to the agency’s and program’s policy, procedures, and professional code of ethics.
Confidentiality must be maintained on all client information.
Must be organized, display good judgment, and be able to see a task through completion.
Must be reliable and able to work independently and understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
Must demonstrate the ability to be flexible and receive assignments from a variety of task supervisors.
Must maintain pre-employment clearances by applicable regulatory clearances as required.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Special Considerations: Employees may be sitting and performing computer work for extended periods.
