Area Sales Manager - West Coast

Account responsibility for regional sales for the DCLI product and term leases.
Duties And Responsibilities
Own and execute sales process for assigned accounts
Achieve growth and utilization targets within assigned territory
Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned
Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made
Drive the “Trucker Model” growth by increasing number of motor carrier customers and their utilization of DCLI’s chassis
Establish and maintain current and potential client relationships
Communicate effectively with customers, account manager and team members
Assist in collections, when necessary
Proactively identify problems and swiftly implement the appropriate solutions
Provide information for sales planning and forecasting activities
Record all sales activity with Salesforce
Provide prospect qualification and local market intelligence
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree desired
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in account management/sales in intermodal industry required
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in intermodal motor carrier industry preferred
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
Must successfully pass background and driver record check on an annual basis
In-depth knowledge of the local market and competitive landscape to effectively target new customers and enhance sales strategy
Self-driven and results-oriented professional with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including effective writing and public speaking skills
Ability to sell the value proposition, including ability to articulate complex technology solutions to customer pain points
Motivated self-starter, persistent in a sales environment, and able to work with limited supervision
Must be able to multi-task and work independently as well as contribute to the overall success of the team
Advanced computer skills (word, excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn proprietary in-house systems
Superior problem solving and decision making skills
Competent at preparing sales proposals
Proven success in a sales environment
Flexibility to quickly adapt to change
Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and excel in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
Bilingual Spanish a plus.
Ability to travel 30% of the time.
Must be able to pass a re-employment drug screening.
