Reporting to the Vice President, Product Management, the Senior Manager, Product is responsible for driving design, development, delivery, and success of Availity’s Provider Data Management products. Specifically, this individual will be working on Availity’s Symphony product, an Availity partnership with IHA (Integrated Healthcare Associate) that integrates with Availity PDM for the state of California’s provider directory utility. The Senior Manager, Product directs a comprehensive product strategy from product conception and definition through end of life. Functions as a central resource with design, development, quality, marketing, sales and distribution as the product(s) move through their lifecycle. Directs those involved in the design, development, modification, and evaluation of all phases of a specific capability, product or group of products. Formulates and executes long-term plans for cost/profit control. Promotes use of new technologies and industry-leading trends. Works in a cross functional manner to develop successful roadmaps for this branch of the PDM product suite. Sponsorship, in any form, is not available for this position. What you will be doing: Working with cross functional leadership to create and execute a successful roadmap for this version of a provider data solution.
Working closely with and shadowing the Vice President, Product including standing in and leading initiatives as needed
Leading teams to deliver on commitments ensuring that projects are completed and properly documented according to product specifications, timelines, and quality standards
Enabling the portfolio strategy by delivering a commercially viable product and ensuring all factors of a go to market strategy are enacted
Developing market insights by maintaining close relationships with the market for awareness of market needs and working with Marketing, Sales, and others as they identify appropriate markets and develops effective strategies and tactics for reaching them
Partnering with Marketing on the Go-To-Market strategy and assisting sales in their interactions with prospects and users
Collaborating with Market Research to strategize, plan, and prioritize market, product, and subject matter research that identify and define opportunities to support and grow business
Identifying market requirements for current and future products supported not only by research, but also through ongoing visits to customers and non-customers
Planning, directing, and tracking technical, cost, and schedule management for assigned product as well as the allocation of resources (contract or employee) to each product implementation, negotiating agreements across department lines as required
Maintaining product budgets including monthly accrual and forecasts and monitoring costs and resource commitments and creating reporting to ensure the GM is informed on the financial status of the product
Identifies ways to improve efficiency of the development process
Coordinating the implementation of new products/features into existing operations. This includes internal communications, metrics, process design and operational readiness
Collaborating and influencing across the Availity matrix organization to align the activities of product, marketing, IT, sales, and service teams and their leaders to deliver the product(s) driving cross-team innovation and enterprise thinking to actively seek opportunities for growth through product line extensions, geographical and channel expansion, or operational/cost improvements to existing products
Requirements: Must have a degree or equivalent experience in healthcare or technology related field
Must have 5+ years of experience in product management, specifically in healthcare
Must have P&L and business planning experience
Must have experience working in an Agile and/or iterative development environment
Must have experience within the healthcare sector, working with providers, health plans, clearinghouses or other organizations including comprehensive understanding of healthcare EDI transactions
Must have experience with real time processing systems
Must have experience representing a company and products both to a client and industry. For example, participating and leading client meetings, presenting at conferences, participating in trade shows, etc.
Must have experience with modern technology architectures, database technology, virtualization, and the impact of government initiatives and HIPAA privacy and security regulations on system design
Must have strong communication skills and experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions
