Customer Support Specialist (Hybrid)

Job Description

We are a specialized insurance agency seeking an experienced, full-time Customer Service Representative to work with schools, colleges and parents to join our team in our Quincy, MA office.

A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. is a unique organization specializing in student insurance. This has been our only area of service since 1930. We currently provide customized policies to more than 1,200 of the leading independent schools and colleges in North America. We are the originators of the Tuition Refund Plan, a proven and tested means of protecting schools and families from the financial consequences of withdrawals and dismissals.

Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We are conveniently located in Quincy, MA, minutes away from Routes 128, 93 and 3. We offer a competitive salary and benefit package. We are a small company with low turnover and hope you consider joining our team!

The ideal candidate will be well organized, professional, able to multi-task effectively, and have excellent written and verbal skills. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, calculating and typing.

Responsibilities: Serves as a primary contact for underwriting and claim processing for our customer schools.

Handles written correspondence, e-mail and phone calls from schools, parents and account representatives.

Reviews and calculates insured student data from schools/colleges.

Prepares and issues insurance policy documents.

Researches plan information and follow up with clients in an accurate and timely manner.

Prepares, documents, and files copies of client information.

Key Skills & Attributes: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Proper grammar both written and verbal

Positive attitude with strong and consistent work ethic

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Efficient and accurate typing, data entry and calculation (10 key) skills necessary

Experience & Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

College graduate preferred.

Previous office and customer service experience required.

Insurance license is not required.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000 (plus bonus potential)
