SENIOR SCIENTIST – BIOTHERAPEUTICS

DESCRIPTION Incendia Therapeutics is seeking an exceptional and highly motivated Senior Scientist to join the Biotherapeutics Drug Discovery group. The successful applicant will support therapeutic antibody discovery and optimization campaigns – including leading reagent generation strategies, developing antibody campaign workplans and screening funnels, overseeing the execution of the campaigns through CRO partners, and optimizing lead antibodies for development candidate selection. RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to the Director, Biotherapeutics the Senior Scientist will be part of the Biotherapeutics Drug Discovery team. Here's What You'll Do: Collaborate with project teams to identify and generate key reagents needed for target validation and antibody campaigns including proteins, antibodies, and engineered cell lines
Interface with CRO antibody partners to execute antibody discovery, humanization, and optimization campaigns
Oversee CROs to produce recombinant proteins and antibodies for in vitro screening and scale-up for in vivo studies, manage in-house inventory, help build LIMS and lab as company grows
Collaborate with project teams to support Development Candidate nomination, including developing screening funnels and assays to support hit-to-lead identification
Develop and implement analytical methods to support Biophysical assessment, including affinity measurements, and Developability characterization
Help build structural modeling capabilities for rational design optimization
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS Qualifications include: Degree in Biochemistry, Molecular/Cellular Biology, or a related field + indicated years of industry experience: Ph.D. + 1-3 yrs – or
M.S. + 8-10 yrs – or
B.S. +10-12 yrs
Experience with multiple antibody discovery platforms including in vivo immunization and in vitro display approaches
Knowledge of antibody engineering: humanization, affinity maturation, sequence analysis & optimization
Experience developing & implementing high-throughput screening assays including, ELISA, cell-based binding FACS, reporter cell lines, HTRF, AlphaLISA
Direct experience with development of therapeutic antibodies
CRO management experience
Experience within silico tools for developability screening, antibody engineering, LIMS
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills for participating across functional groups and externally
Demonstrated commitment to quality, attention to detail, and team player mentality
Demonstrated ability to think critically and creatively as part of a fast-paced research team
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of protein structure and modeling to enable rational design & lead optimization
Knowledge of techniques and instrumentation related to protein characterization and analytics (SPR/BLI binding, LC/MS, peptide mapping, PTM characterization, HPLC, DSC, DLS, etc.)
Understanding of cell line development and CMC activities
