Responsibilities
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for business development to include customer growth, client consulting to include new lines of portfolio sales growth at PCG Education. The BDM’s primary focus is on developing partnerships with new and existing revenue streams for clients around a variety of programs, contracts and portfolio of services.
This role will be responsible for designing a strategy for a geographical footprint to include understanding legislation related to PCG’s programming, alignment of programming to PCG education offerings. The BDM is expected to be familiar with Education leadership and issues of the State Education Agencies (SEAs) and Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in a prescribed geographic area and areas determined by leadership.
The BDM will work closely with PCG Managers and staff targeting business opportunities and relationships for the firm. The BDM will be evaluated on their overall portfolio of client partnerships and strategic consulting plan(s) and the related revenue performance from those.
Specific Responsibilities
Demonstrate interpersonal skills to deal with government executive, legislative, SEA and LEA leadership personnel to achieve PCG revenue goals
Demonstrate ability to develop strategic business relationships with educational leaders at the state and local level
Work closely in a team environment with others who will be accepting the business execution responsibilities of the opportunities developed
Capitalize on knowledge of funding sources for SEA and LEA programs and the rules that govern the availability of local, State, and Federal funds
Prescribe actionable business development/consulting plan for defined geographical footprint
Work with existing clients from PCG to consult on new programs that align to federal, state and local funding sources and strategic initiatives
Qualifications
Required Work Experience and Education
Bachelor's Degree
5+ years’ experience in developing meaningful relationships within the C suite level
Solutions sales experience and full sales cycle experience
CRM experience and proven ability to use the tool to grow a large portfolio
Proven experience managing client relationships

Ability to assist in the direction of the sales process of PCG products and services

Preferred Work Experience and Skills
Sales experience and/or work experience in a K - 12 setting
Public sector sales
Experience working with District and SEA decision makers
Strong researching and K-12 related legislation understanding to then create actionable next steps as it relates to PCG programs/services

Compensation
Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $80,000 - $90,000. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.
