The communications manager will be responsible for working collaboratively with key stakeholders, assisting to build communications vehicles and ongoing communications, and ensuring effectiveness of communications for various business initiatives This role will also assist in tailoring communications initiatives for specific business units and markets as needed. The individual will support the VP of Communications in other projects as assigned.
Work collaboratively with various corporate function and business unit leaders to strategize and develop communications to business objectives.
Effectively define issues and goals, collect data, and establish facts, as well as draw valid conclusions to develop communication strategies and plans.
Use strong writing skills to review or draft content including but not limited to media statements, press releases and internal communications.
Leverage this content to create dynamic materials, messaging, events, and forums across multiple channels, in collaboration with Communications and Marketing teams.
Execute communication plans in a timely manner, measure success of all activities to refine and adjust as needed.
Support VP of Communications on various projects, as needed, and act as liaison between communications and the business units.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English or Marketing.
At least 5 years of experience in communications, journalism, and / or public relations.
Preference for experience in healthcare or a related industry.
Must be good at writing content.
Effective communication skills; both orally and written.
Ability to effectively engage key stakeholders and present information to management.
Collaborates with other Communications team members on shared ideas and projects.
Effectively manages multiple communications requests under tight deadlines.
Operates smoothly in a fast-paced environment.
Delivers high quality deliverables in a timely manner.
