Job Description

United Surgical Partners International, Inc. ("USPI") specializes in the operation of ambulatory surgery centers and related businesses throughout the U.S. and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: THC). USPI is currently seeking a Manager, Corporate Accounting and A&D to work in the corporate office located in Dallas, Texas. This position reports to the Director of Corporate Accounting. The position offers a hybrid working schedule outside of month-end and quarter close after initial onboarding and training.

Primary Responsibilities:

Accounting for acquisitions, consolidations, de-consolidations, and divestitures of ambulatory surgery centers and surgical hospitals for a growth focused company in accordance with relevant GAAP guidance such as ASC 805, ASC 810, and ASC 323.

Draft technical accounting memorandums supporting key decisions made as part of the Company's acquisition accounting to be reviewed by executives in the Corporate Accounting department, external auditors, and joint venture partners.

Coordinate closely with Facility Accounting teams, Corporate Development, Legal, Tax, Treasury, and other key functions within the M&A lifecycle.

Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual audit schedules for Financial Reporting, FP&A, and joint venture partners.

Maintain a robust internal control environment to maintain compliance with SOX 404, SEC, and GAAP requirements.

Assist with ad hoc projects directed by the Controller's Office.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or closely related field.

5+ years of progressive accounting and management experience.

CPA designation is required.

Public Accounting experience (preferred).

Experience with public company accounting, including SEC reporting and SOX compliance (preferred).

Must have effective communication (oral and written) and relationship building skills.

Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management.

Has the capacity and willingness to work within tight deadlines.

Experience with consolidation/multi-entity accounting .

Experience with intercompany transactions.

Experience with ASC 805 purchase price accounting and acquisition experience including familiarity with reading purchase and other deal agreements, accounting for closing statements, understanding supporting valuations, recording of goodwill and other intangibles, and familiarity with opening balance sheet preparation and adjustments.

Knowledge of GAAP and accounting research experience including knowledge of technical accounting concepts such as Business Combinations (ASC 805), Consolidation Accounting (ASC 810), and Equity Method and Joint Ventures (ASC 323).

Proficient in Excel analysis tools (X-look up, pivot tables) as well as efficient in navigating Excel.

Process improvement and forward-thinking mindset.

Understanding of the audit process and internal control environment including commitment to supporting the control environment for a Big 4 audited company (preferred).

Responsibilities

Works closely with internal development team on accounting projects

Responsible for accounting and preparation of monthly financials for multiple Real Estate entities

Assist with corporate close process, budgeting, and financial statement preparation and review.

Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual audit schedules

Assist with special projects that support CAO and VP

This position will eventually be responsible for managing one staff accountant

Qualifications

5+ Years of relevant accounting experience

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

CPA license

Must have strong communication (oral and written) and relationship building skills

Demonstrates exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a time management

Has the capacity to work within tight deadlines

Experience in consolidation/multi-entity accounting

Technical knowledge of Business Combinations (ASC 805) and Accounting for Noncontrolling Interest (ASC 810)

Proficient in Excel, with Oracle GL experience a plus
