Senior Research Scientist

Senior Research Scientists are individuals holding a Ph.D. or other terminal degree who play a significant role in enabling, facilitating, and promoting research programs through collaborative and collegial interactions with faculty, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students and staff. The rank of Senior Research Scientist is a staff appointment and the most senior level within the research scientist job hierarchy. A Senior Research Scientist may apply his/her effort entirely to research or to a combination of research, training, and lab managerial activities.
* Experience managing multiple research projects simultaneously
* Experience managing research budgets and research personnel
* Technical skills and competencies to conduct quantifiable, meaningful research
* Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
* Ability to interact with individuals of diverse backgrounds at all levels internal and external to the organization
* Ability to work collaboratively as a positive, contributing member of a team
* Ability to keyboard and utilize various standardized word processing, spreadsheet preparation, presentation software, data analysis and statistics, graphing and illustration software.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
* Ability to prioritize work, performing assignments with minimal supervision
* Ability to develop novel methodologies and to prepare standard operating procedures (SOPs) and to train staff to follow laboratory SOPs
* At least 10 years of experience studying the cell biology of tumor progression and metastasis
* Terminal Degree (Ph.D./M.D./D.V.M./, etc.)
* A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant research area, and evidence of scholarly work (e.g. scientific publications, scientific grant contributions, etc.)
* A minimum of 8 years of experience working with laboratory animals
* Work experience in an academic environment
* More than 10 years of wet bench research experience
