A law firm is seeking an Intellectual Property Life Sciences Associate Attorney for their Philadelphia office. The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in a life sciences technology area such as biochemistry, alongside the necessary qualifications and skills to handle patent prosecution and counseling projects. The attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel and support on patent prosecution and counseling projects within the life sciences sector.
Duties:
• Conducting patent prosecution and drafting patent applications related to life sciences technologies.
• Providing legal advice and support on intellectual property matters, including patentability assessments, freedom-to-operate analyses, and due diligence reviews.
• Managing client relationships and communication regarding intellectual property strategies and portfolio management.
• Conducting legal research and analysis to support client initiatives and litigation efforts in the life sciences field.
• Collaborating with other attorneys and stakeholders within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services to clients.
Requirements:
• Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in a life sciences technology area, preferably in biochemistry.
• Patent Bar membership (USPTO Registration Number) is required.
• 13 years of patent prosecution experience in a biochemistry practice.
• Strong understanding of intellectual property laws and regulations, particularly related to patent prosecution and counseling in the life sciences industry.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
Education & Certifications:
Ph.D. in a life sciences technology area (e.g., biochemistry).
