What to expect:
The role is to support the development of driver assistance functions with the current ADAS platform and particularly with verification and validation activity.
This task will include to drive instrumented vehicles on the public road, identify problematic scenarios and root cause analysis of all the corner cases where there are issues with current ADAS features.
As a part of job responsibility this position requires to coordinate with the function developers in Germany and plan for a fix in the upcoming releases on the same platform. Type of problems could be perception issues in certain scenarios, aggressive/abrupt steering during lane controls, predictive speed control issue etc.
This role will also contribute into current platform which is on-going. The goal is that all the problems which are identified with previous generation need to be taken care in the current development platform. This may require development of some simulation or prototype software to make sure that the solution will work. This will include working together with the development team both in US and Germany.
Role Responsibilities:
Vehicle preparation, Driving on road - in vehicle testing (30%)
- Instrumenting test vehicle with measurement devices to capture data specific to test cases and scenarios. These include additional sensors (like camera, Lidar etc.) for ground-truth data collection along with Audi-specific measurement devices.
- Testing with pre-defined test cases on road (real life scenarios) and also identify and test all possible corner case scenarios to makes sure that system is performing as intended.
Data analysis, finding root cause and potential solution - (30%)
- Collect measurement data while performing on-road testing and perform analysis all relevant signals (hardware and software) in ADTF / Vector-tools understand and verify behavior of signals as per test cases. Most important is to understand the root cause of the problematic scenarios where system fails. It is expected that this position will further engage in discussion with the system owners and will find a potential solution of these problems.
Verifying with current software platform owners for potential fix of the failed test cases (20% )
- Once the potential solution is proposed it is needed to discuss with the current software platform owners for agreement of solution and possible roll out time frame based on the planned released timing.
- Additionally this position needs to discuss with next-gen software platform owners to make sure the solution for these problems are taken into consideration into next gen implementation.
Documentation and Project Management (20%)
- All the test cases, result and bug-fixing needs to be managed in internal tracking system as this will be the input for sign-off of the software release in production.
- Also many of the platform owners are located in Germany so it needs strong coordination/cooperation with them.
What you bring along:
Required Skills: +3 years of experience with Verification and Validation with ADAS system Parking
Proven experience with Verification and Validation within automotive environment for ADAS/AD assisted or automated Parking functions.
Expertise in vehicle diagnosis and vehicle testing
Should be familiar with automotive communication standards (CAN, FlexRay and Ethernet) and their measurement systems
Strong measurement data analysis skill
Desired Skills: Experience with working at an OEM on ADAS/AD assisted or automated Parking functions.
Experience with Systems engineering and Test Management
Proven experience working on vehicles
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (computer science or comparable)
Master's or PhD in in Engineering (computer science or comparable) (desired)
