Database Administrator

Denver, CO.

We are seeking a skilled SQL Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing our company's on prem and cloud based MS SQL database systems. They will ensure the reliability, performance, and integrity of our databases, enabling smooth operations across various departments.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain SQL server instances and databases across multiple environments (development, testing, production).

• Monitor database performance and proactively optimize system resources.

• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards.

• User Administration, such as adding, updating, and removing users from the database servers, assigning permissions, etc.

• Recommend, develop and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to minimize data loss.

• Troubleshoot database-related issues and perform root cause analysis.

• Collaborate with developers to optimize SQL queries and improve application performance.

• Evaluate and recommend database technologies, tools, and best practices.

• Document database configurations, procedures, and standards.

• Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams as needed.

• Additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• 5+ years experience as a SQL Database Administrator or similar role.

• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or above.

• Proficiency in T-SQL and SQL scripting and database management tools.

• Strong understanding of database architecture, normalization, and indexing.

• Knowledge of database security principles and practices.

• Experience with performance tuning and optimization techniques.

• Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in Microsoft SQL Server or equivalent.

• Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse, Amazon RDS).

• Knowledge of other database platforms (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle).

• Knowledge of Integration Services
