About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Philanthropy to serve as an executive officer with a primary focus on leading development and fundraising efforts, including major campaigns. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating a statewide team to execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that encompasses annual, alumni, planned giving, and campaigns, as well as grant development from various philanthropic organizations. This role involves nurturing effective relationships with donors, both individual and institutional, and enhancing the performance of development partners. The VP will also be tasked with fostering a diverse and inclusive environment and will have supervisory responsibilities over a team of fundraising professionals.Candidates for the Vice President for Philanthropy position at The Company should have a Bachelor's degree and at least five years of progressive managerial experience, preferably in higher education or a philanthropic organization. A Master's degree and CFRE or similar certification in fundraising management are preferred. The role requires a proven track record in personal solicitation and planned giving, advanced knowledge of philanthropy and fundraising principles, and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders. The VP will be expected to lead the development of strategic fundraising plans, manage major campaigns, and provide oversight for donor stewardship and communications. The ability to think strategically, build consensus, and promote an inclusive environment is essential, as is the willingness to travel as needed.
