**What You Will Do**
Responsible for ensuring safety program(s) follow(s) federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
Ensure safety program(s) adhere(s) to all federal, state, and local regulatory standards. Ensure documentation maintenance and program trending and analysis also meet regulatory standards.
Monitor and interpret activities of the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and make recommendations to ensure internal program and processes related to driver qualifications maintains compliance.
Develop, analyze, and manage the program and maintain appropriate documentation.
Compile, verify, and prepare information/reports regarding DOT programs and processes.
Create and maintain strong relationships with outside vendors, key stakeholders and others critical to success.
Partner with internal stakeholders to review federal, state, and local requirements, identify gaps in programs, and make recommendations to ensure successful corrective action takes place.
Partner with internal stakeholders to recommend, develop, and maintain appropriate documentation collection methods and consistent record storage of safety program documentation.
Analyze driver qualifications, recommend and implement process improvements to maintain regulatory compliance.
May lead projects related to EHS safety programs.
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of the job.
Employee may perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
**What You Will Need**
Bachelor's Degree preferred in Environmental Safety & Health, Compliance, or related field and an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job-related experience:
• Having an advanced understanding of DOT/FMCSA federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
• Previous experience with DOT/FMCSA regulated driver qualification programs.
• Experience in managing cross-functional projects.
Proven experience in the use and function of office equipment applicable to position including computers, photocopiers, facsimiles, and applicable software.
Experience in the review, understanding, and interpretation of government regulations, policies, and correspondence.
Previous experience in data management, data trending and analysis.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
Read and write fluently in English.
Applicable driver’s license. Requires travel to other company offices and facilities and to job sites.
Mobility to travel in and around plant and office facilities and around job sites out-of-doors.
Communicate and exchange information.
Visual ability to perform job responsibilities.
