OVERVIEW OF THE HUMAN RESOURCES BUSINESS PARTNER (HRBP) ROLE

The responsibilities of the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) are multifaceted and integral to the success of the organization. The HRBP collaborates closely with various stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, and employees, to ensure alignment between human resources initiatives and the overarching goals of the organization. Serving as a trusted advisor and coach, the HRBP plays a critical role in fostering a positive work culture and enhancing employee engagement. This role also involves ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, which is essential for maintaining organizational integrity and effectiveness. Through these efforts, the HRBP contributes significantly to the development and implementation of strategies that drive organizational performance and employee satisfaction.

Job Location: Portland, OR. (HYBRID & Field Work)

DIRECT HIRE!

Salary: 90k-120k DOE

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide initial support to employees and managers on workplace practices, programs, systems, and other inquiries, utilizing ticketing systems as needed.

Act as a trusted advisor and advocate for employees, handling employee relations issues and conflicts impartially

Advise managers on employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with employment laws and conducting thorough investigations.

Collaborate with People Operations & Disability Inclusion on HR initiatives, including talent development, rewards practices, and compliance with HR policies.

Guide management and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices to support new initiatives.

Support coordination of Leave of Absence and Workers Compensation programs, including transitional work and accommodations.

Partner with business leaders to align HR strategies with organizational goals, facilitating employee engagement and leading organizational change efforts.

Recommend and implement programs to enhance leadership effectiveness and retain key talent.

Collaborate with managers to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies.

Assist in developing performance review frameworks and career development pathways, providing guidance on performance management.

Ensure HR systems are updated accurately and timely.

Conduct audits and analyze HR metrics to drive data-driven decision-making and improve employee performance.

Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance HR processes and practices.

Stay informed on industry trends and labor laws to recommend HR policy changes that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

8+ Years of experience required.

Bilingual (Spanish) abilities required.

Proven experience as an HRBP or HR Generalist, with a track record of successfully partnering with leaders to drive HR initiatives and achieve organizational results.

Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices, with the ability to apply them in a practical and compliant manner.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with employees, managers, and leadership at all levels of the organization.

Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve consensus and drive change.

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret HR metrics and trends to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

Union experience required.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

High degree of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.

Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
