Sr. Research Specialist

We are seeking individuals interested in a Senior Research Specialist position in a biomedical laboratory focused on Nanomedicine. Appropriate candidates should be proficient in animal work, particularly surgical procedures and models, and basic wet lab bench techniques.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Developing preclinical surgical models.

Conducting animal experiments and surgeries.

Laboratory experiments.

Sample processing.

Data collection and analysis.

Keeping the laboratory in running condition.

Manuscript preparation.

Troubleshooting, making independent decisions, and training/guidance of other lab personnel.

Preparing the group and the facilities for animal inspections and interacting with inspectors.

Maintain and monitor shared laboratory resources.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical, Molecular/Cell Biology, or related field is required.

At least 5 years of post-undergraduate research experience and familiarity with basic laboratory techniques in cellular and molecular biology are required.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate Degree, such as MD or PhD, in related field.

Starting Salary Range: Min $47,500 - Max $83,300 Annually ($74,350 targeted; Commensurate with experience)

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
