The Manager , Accounts Payable (AP Manager) will play a critical role in the growth of our Accounting department by owning the full cycle of AP, ensuring accurate and timely recording of expenses and payments to vendors for our CPG vertical. The AP Manager also performs financial activity related to the month end close. The ideal candidate possess es strong business acumen with the ability to effectively address both financial and operational challenges. You are a people person capable of navigating and managing vendor and internal relationships , managing a staff of AP Specialists and supporting the Finance team . Most importantly, y ou must be able to thrive in the fast-paced G reen T humb environment .
This position requires onsite work 3 days a week, with 2 remote day per week.
Responsibilities Manages full Accounts Payables cycle, including 3-way match procedures in the ERP system
Develops policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with the delegation of authority matrix
Maintains vendor relationships, answering vendor and internal inquiries in a timely manner
Leads a team of accounts payable professionals
Collaborates with cross-functional team members in the procurement and manufacturing site operations teams to effectively monitor status of ERP-related workflows, including 3-way match, 2-way match, and blanket PO purchases and invoicing.
Collaborates with cross-functional team members in the operations finance and ERP development teams to roll out ERP system enhancements and process improvements
Prepares supporting documentation and processes payments
Maintains standard operating procedures including month-beginning and month-end checklists
Reviews payables for completeness and accuracy
Supports external audit process, where required
Supervises annual 1099 process
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a related field highly preferred
5+ years of experience working in an accounts payable role, in the manufacturing business
2+ years of experience managing staff
Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
Ability to direct and supervise
Advanced skills as it relates to MS Office and accounting software
Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness
Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment
Superior communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, non-verbal, written), with the ability to build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally
Possesses a high level of critical thinking
Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information
High attention to detail and accuracy
Additional Requirements Must pass any and all required background checks
Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
