What You will Get to Do!!
The Payroll Specialist will have strong payroll process and regulatory knowledge and experience and a thorough knowledge and understanding of multi-state tax issues. Knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA's) and Service Contract Act is preferred. The position works closely with field staff to assist in resolving problems and correcting errors with regards to time and attendance systems. The Payroll Specialist will process bi-weekly employee time sheets, assist in the administration and analysis of time and attendance system activity, compile time sheets from field, calculate the hours worked, and code data for the payroll system.
Key functions you will perform!
Compiles payroll data (hours worked, insurance, taxes, union dues, employee identification numbers, time sheets and other payroll records).
Answers telephone or email inquiries regarding payroll problems, adjustments and time transfers.
Formats and audits Schedule System files prior to Unanet import.
Uploads Labor Data to ADP and manual entry of any adjustments or Manual checks
Distributes off-site payroll checks to ensure appropriate distribution.
Interacts with the field operations teams to resolve discrepancies.
Assist with 401K contribution submittals for every pay period
Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory authorities.
Assist Payroll manager in reconciling payroll transactions
Collaborate with People Services Department, Benefits Operations, and third-party vendors on payroll matters.
Files payroll and employee data.
Performs other payroll related duties as assigned by management.
What you will need to have:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or any related field.
Experience supporting a remote team a PLUS
Must possess strong computer skills in MS Office, including Microsoft Word, TEAMS, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to type 45 WPM
Ability to understand the payroll process using Unanet and ADP Payroll.
Knowledge of multi-state tax issues and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA's) preferred.
Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with different departments within the company, employees and with clients.
Committed to providing outstanding customer service and representing the company in a professional manner.
Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information.
Ability to take technical direction and feedback from various sources.
Must be able to identify and escalate non-technical issues to their immediate Supervisor.
Requires the ability to prioritize work, meet stringent deadlines, balance multiple tasks and work in a team environment.
Ability to work a hybrid schedule.

Standing/Walking/Mobility : Must have mobility to attend meetings with Managers, co-workers and new hires.
Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling : 0% - 10% of the time.
Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: 0% - 10% of the time.
Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write, type and use a telephone system 100% of the time.
Sitting: Sitting for prolonged and extended periods of time.
