This position plays a crucial role in managing one of the most critical aspects of our company – ensuring that our employees are compensated promptly, accurately, and in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist: Check monthly timesheet and bonus input into the system
Prepare and input payroll data for semi-monthly payrolls in accurate and timely manner; prepare reports and check requests for all applicable payments associated with payrolls; update payroll check register
Prepare monthly GL spreadsheet and prepare monthly employee roster and reports
Provide customer service to employees related to payroll
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for payroll and benefit accounts
Reconcile quarterly and annual tax filings and reports following agency filing requirements
Review semi-annual performance bonus payments and process payments in ADP
Work on annual budgets for labor costs; update & maintain budget salary spreadsheet
Update and maintain the Performance Management Raise spreadsheets Administer and maintain ADP database
Produce & provide reports for various company projects from ADP, to include annual Total Pay Statements, and people data analytics
Help with benefit plan audits such as 401k, Workers Comp, etc.
Requirements of the Payroll Specialist: Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, preferred 3+ years of payroll and general ledger reconciliation experience
ADP Workforce now experience, nice to have Experience with payroll regulations to include FLSA and tax reporting
Highly organized with strong and thorough written and verbal communication skills
Timely response skills needed to respond to employees
Proficient with online benefit databases, use of Excel spreadsheets required
