Qualifications
Qualifications:
Group & Event Sales Manager is responsible for selling and planning events. Primary sales efforts are focused on Group and Local Event opportunities and include prospecting, qualifying incoming business leads, negotiating, contracting and planning. Duties also include facilitating communication before, during and post events/meetings with pertinent hotel staff to ensure a high level of service. This individual will also host hotel tours, maintain strong customer relationships, participate in and may lead department meetings and other staff meetings.
Four year college degree in sales, tourism, business or equivalent experience that demonstrates required knowledge is preferred
Minimum five years’ experience in hospitality sales preferred; destination wellness resort or independent boutique resort experience strongly preferred
Excellent guest service skills, both in person and on the phone
Professional presentation and demeanor
Independent work habits and strong leadership
Ability to travel occasionally on behalf of the company and to work flexible and extended hours as required by the operations of the resort
Selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills preferred
