Position Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the President, the Director of Marketing and Communications serves as the leader of the Marketing Department in addition to serving the Development Team in Fundraising Events and Donor Relations/Stewardship. This role would support Admissions also in marketing and admissions strategy as needed.
As the Marketing lead, this person supports the school through the development and implementation of marketing, advertising, communications, and media strategy. He or she would conduct analysis, develop and maintain branding standards in collaboration with the Creative Director, and as a team implement effective, cost-efficient, and strategic marketing and communications measures to retain current families, engage new applicants, encourage donors, and create a brand recognition that reflects the excellence of CDA. The candidate leverages current industry trends, best practices, and technology to propose innovative strategies and oversees the Marketing department’s annual budget and personnel. This person will also advise ways to improve clear and concise communications both internally and externally.
As an integral part of the Development team as well, this person would promote for various school events including gala, golf tournaments, business luncheons, and more. Collaborate with the Office of Development to market giving campaigns, develop content for proposals, emails, and printed pieces, and serve at various events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develop and implement marketing, advertising, communications, and media plans and strategies to support Cor am Deo Academy
Responsible for creating and maintaining key messaging and strategy for the district and campus communication
Collaborate in all external and internal marketing and communications needs of the Office of Development, the Office of the President, and Campus Administration
In charge of allocating and managing the Marketing Department budget
Help promote fundraising events such as the gala, PTF Fun Runs, and golf tournaments, along with other development events such as Business Leaders Luncheons, etc.
Supervise Communication Coordinators on three campuses as they create and execute the campus communication plans in collaboration with campus leadership, faculty & staff
Provide strategic insight to maximize effectiveness of communication channels, including social media, e-mail, direct mail utilized by Office of the President, Development, and Admissions to engage constituents
Ensure that approved plans are effectively executed as scheduled utilizing cross-channel marketing strategies to increase engagement and brand awareness
Directing the Campus Communications Coordinators in management of Coram Deo Academy’s social media, external online profiles, website pages, and marketing campaigns
Work in partnership with the Admissions Department to increase the effectiveness of lead generation, enhance prospect engagement, and maximize conversion rates
Work closely with the Office of Development’s team to support donor acquisition, development campaign promotion, and sponsor recognition through marketing and communications efforts
Support the Systems Department’s management of the public website by engaging in regular meetings and providing web content for publication
Collaborate with Creative Director and department heads to ensure the successful completion of marketing project needs to include digital, print, video, and media items such as The Forum, the Impact Report, State of the Academy, and large event-related items (invitations and other marketing collateral) etc.
Manage the development and distribution of internal and external news releases publicizing achievements and interest items to engage constituents with help from the Campus Communications Coordinators
Regularly generate and present reports and analysis for all marketing and communications campaigns to inform future marketing efforts and for President and Board of Directors

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Advertising, Social Media Management, Public Relations, Development or other related field, Required
Master’s Degree Preferred
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5 years of experience in Marketing, Advertising, Social Media Management, Public Relations, or another related field
Minimum 1 year of professional experience in a managerial function
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills
Knowledge in search engine optimization, Google Analytics,
Experienced in social media platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and general office technology
Ideally has some experience with or can quickly learn elements of Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud Push Pages, Constant Contact, and Adobe Creative Suite
Ability to synthesize and analyze data, metrics, and key performance indicators
Ability to speak publicly and provide relevant training, instruction, or information to audiences
Ability to work in both team and individual settings
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
