**Job Description**

**AECOM** has a position available for a **Civil/Structural Designer** to support our growing Energy Business Line. AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices located in multiple locations across the United States.

Our team provides a wide range of civil and structural engineering services across markets sectors including electrical transmission and distribution (OH/UG power systems, substations, EV charging networks, microgrid design, etc.), renewables (Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Wind), industrial process (Oil & Gas, petrochemical), building decarbonization and next generation energy (hydrogen, fuel cells, electrolyzers, etc.). We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to develop within and further the technical skills we bring to our new and existing client base. Qualified candidates will have a familiarity with civil and structural design aspects for heavy industrial clients

The successful candidate will have an understanding and experience in civil and structural design and principles. She/he will be expected to work successfully within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members. He/she will have a high level of initiative, motivation, and displays drive, energy and enthusiasm for getting things done with an excellent attention to detail.

**DCS—Energy**

AECOM’s Energy practice provides a wide range of services from consulting and engineering design to energy engineering, energy procurement and construction (EPC) for power, energy efficiency, and renewable energy clients. Our understanding of the big picture – and the interconnection between generation, distribution, storage, and the demand side of the meter – allows us to deliver holistic strategies that improve and modernize next generation energy infrastructure. We connect knowledge and experience across our global framework to bring together a unique combination of engineers, planners, scientists, and project managers who advance cleaner, secure, and more sustainable energy solutions.

**Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:**

* Works under general supervision

* Performs both routine and non-routine, drafting assignments, scale and edit assignments involving the use of computer aided design and drafting equipment and other graphics software (e.g. CADD software) to achieve set results and deadlines

* Digitize or trace sketches or concepts from designers using CADD software, such as AutoCAD

* Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines

* Follows established procedures and requires instructions only on new assignments

**Minimum Requirements**

+ BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or AA/AS + 4 years of relevant experience

+ Experience in concrete and structural steel design

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Demonstrated experience in participating complex, multi-discipline programs/projects and CAD teams

+ Confidence and expertise utilizing Autodesk 2D and 3D platform packages

+ Experience working in collaborative model environments (e.g. Navisworks)

+ Experience in the management of Common Data Environments including ProjectWise, BIM 360

+ Experience leveraging laser scan or other data sets to inform design development

+ Knowledge of typical stakeholders and be able to anticipate data requests and expectations

+ Understanding of vendor documentation and it’s use as a reference for assigned tasks

+ Exposure to substation facilities layout and design

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $65,000.00 - $90,000.00.
