Description
The Assistant Director - Capital Projects and Facilities is responsible for the planning and implementation of multi-million-dollar capital, maintenance, and renewable energy and energy efficiency projects for the County of Santa Barbara and managing facility maintenance operations for over 400 County buildings. The Assistant Director manages functions associated with facilities planning and construction, deferred maintenance programs and projects, facility maintenance and operations, and development of related funding strategies and requests. The position is responsible for formulating and administering County policy associated with each function and providing contract administration and support to the department. Activities include, but are not limited to leading, planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and managing personnel and resources. In addition, the Assistant Director is part of the Department's Executive Team and is integral in the implementation of department and countywide strategic initiatives.
